Draft Ordinance Received by the City

Hello Carmel Neighbors,

 

We wanted to give you an update on some new developments in the city’s wireless ordinance update process.

The next Carmel Planning Commission meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 13th. At this meeting, Andrew Campanelli will be speaking. Andrew Campanelli, the telecom attorney Stop Cell Towers in Carmel Neighborhoods hired thanks to your generous donations, has completed his draft of a strong model wireless ordinance for Carmel-by-the-Sea, which we sent to the Planning Commissioners, Mayor, and City Council members. We have asked them to read it and hopefully use at least some of the material for the update and have received notification that they have received it. We have also just learned, from a Friday video contained in the City’s Friday Letter, that the Wireless Ordinance Meeting with the Planning Commission is going to be held June 8th! So, we don’t have much time to get ready. We will need all of your support in the form of letters and public comments at the upcoming Planning Commission and City Council meetings, as this ordinance update works its way through the process, so the city can formulate the strictest ordinance possible to prevent cell tower proliferation in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
